Assemblyman Gary R. Chiusano

Assemblyman Gary R. Chiusano was sworn into office on January 8, 2008 to serve the residents of the 24th Legislative District which includes all of Sussex County and parts of Morris and Hunterdon Counties after winning the 2007 Republican Primary and General Elections. Assemblyman Chiusano serves in a leadership role as Assistant Republican Whip. He currently serves on the Assembly Budget Committee, Assembly Financial Institutions and Insurance Committee and Assembly Economic Development Committee. Assemblyman Chiusano was also selected to serve on the Joint Committee on Affordable Housing and the Mandated Health Benefits Advisory Commission and as Chirman of the Hunter and Angler Conservation Caucus. Assemblyman Chiusano is championing legislation to lower government spending and protect taxpayers, reform the judiciary, and protect traditional family values.

Assemblyman Chiusano was raised in the Stockholm section of Hardyston Township and has lived in Frankford Township since 1983. He and his wife Carol have three adult children, two daughters, Brooke and Lyndsay and a son, Michael, and two granddaughters, Madison and Rylle.

Assemblyman Chiusano was a Member of the Sussex County Board of Chosen Freeholders from 2003 to 2008 winning election in 2002 and re-election in 2005. He was chosen by his colleagues as Director in 2006.

Community service has been a hallmark of Assemblyman Chiusano�s career and he has served in a variety of ways including: former Frankford Township Mayor and Committeeman; former member of the Frankford Township Board of Education; girls softball and boys baseball coach; past Treasurer and Member of Board of Trustees at Lafayette Federated Church; Past President and inductee of the Sussex County Sports Hall of Fame; Member of the Executive Committee of United Way of Sussex County; member of the Branchville Rotary Club; Trustee and founding member of the Senior Quality of Life Foundation.

Assemblyman Chiusano is a Financial Planner and the holder of Series 7, 63 and 66 Securities Licenses. He is a graduate of Franklin High School and a graduate of Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration / Finance, and he recently stepped down as the Vice President of Financial Services and Trust Officer for a local banking institution.
